As a favor to a friend, I let a couple of 3rd year law students interview me regarding work-life balance in my current career. As I understood it, they were interviewing different lawyers in different fields.
Considering that the subject was work-life balance, the questioning inevitably turned to love life...or lack thereof. After finding out that I didn't have a boyfriend right now and I had no plans to get married and have kids, one of them exclaimed:
"Naku Ma'am, sayang naman. Ang talino at ang ganda nyo pa naman. Dapat ganyang genes ang nag-aanak."
Naks.
This seriously made my day.:)

Blue sky
Just some random photo I took without looking at the sky. Just pointed the camera straight up.
Based on its place in my memory card, this was taken in Blue Mountains.

Make your own drama - 3
"I thought you didn't like him? What is all this fuss about then?"
"I thought I didn't like him that way either. But seeing him with her hurts more than I thought it would."
"That way? That way? I thought you didn't like him. Period."
"Well, maybe I wasn't being completely honest..."

Make your own drama - 2
I hate it when I start second-guessing myself. It takes so long to get my equilibrium back.

Make your own drama - 1
why do I continue to fight when you tell me it's over? I've seen this coming for so long. sometimes I thought the waiting was unbearable. but now that it's here, everything in me refuses to accept it.
why do I continue to fight for you and for us? it's that little thing deep inside me that thinks that we can work it out. that belief that this isn't it. this couldn't be it. all those years wouldn't lead to this. shouldn't lead to this.
why do I keep getting back up after so many times you've hurt me? it's because I still believe that the person I loved, love, is still somewhere in there, loving the person I have become. that the person you have become will love who I am now, too.
but no amount of fighting brings you back to me. that little kernel burning inside me is dying down. I am near to giving up. I choose to give up. but I cannot let go completely because that hope inside me may be dying, but it is still there.
hope is the enemy.

a YM conversation
Friend: You've been ignoring me.
Me: No, I haven't been ignoring you. If I were, I wouldn't have replied to your message.
Friend: You haven't talked to me in a month, what's that if not ignoring me?
Me: I wasn't ignoring you then. Did you say "hi" or anything to me? No, you didn't.
Me: So, really, I wasn't ignoring you. It's more of I've been avoiding you.
Me: No, I haven't been ignoring you. If I were, I wouldn't have replied to your message.

No more venting
I opened the draft new post page with every intention of venting...
then I changed my mind.
Good for me, yes?

shooting one's self in the foot
I just find it strange that the prez is always giving press conferences.
We finally get a really good tourism slogan. It's simple. Launched on the internet. Viral. We've got netizens' versions and websites popping up and some of them are actually brilliant.
Then we get an announcement, from the prez no less, that there is a "verified" terrorist threat.
No timeline.
Their defending the announcement as being a necessity to keep the public informed. Keep them alert and not complacent.
Please.
As J said in Men In Black (or an approximation thereof): "An individual is smart. Rational. People...people are stupid and panicky."
I won't be surprised if countries started announcing travel bans to our county.
I mean c'mon, our prez said there's a terrorist threat.

Bohol - The sights
Day 2 - Island Tour
Blood compact site
Church - what am I doing in this picture? Probably fearing the wrath of God.
From the Loboc river cruise (with lunch!).
Of course, the tarsier.
Chocolate Hills.

Bohol - Around Panglao
First day at Bohol, our flight arrived a couple of hours before lunch. The package included only an island tour with river cruise for the second day. Finding ourselves with free time on the afternoon of the first day, we availed of the Panglao tour. (P.S. Please don't ask me the names of the places we went to. Sorry!)
In front of the miraculous well, attributed to Mary.(?)
Hinagdanan Cave.
Inside the cave, graffiti or ancient drawings?
Lake inside the cave.
Lighthouse or guard tower?
Another church.

Bohol - Flushing Meadows
Last September, availing of a CashCashPinoy promo, my parents, Bruks, Porkchop and G (from the office) went to Bohol. The promo included airfare and resort accomodations and an island tour, organized by Indochina Strings Philippines.
The people at Indochina Strings were very helpful in booking everything especially since I caused them some difficulty. Apparently, they had 4 reserved seats per flight for those availing of the promo. But after some follow-ups, they accommodated our party of 6 to be on the same flight. Yey!
Our flight was with Airphil Express and amazingly, the flight landed a few minutes early.
Our airport transfer provided by our hotel was already waiting for us. We stayed at Flushing Meadows. It's a relatively new resort (visit their webpage here), and really quite beautiful.
I liked the villa-type styling of the buildings. It was only later that I realized that the names were tennis-inspired. Hihihi. And the grounds were immaculate.
Playground for the kiddies.
Dinosaur Park.
The swimming pool.
Their portion of the beach was a bit ho-hum, but we were always too tired to actually swim.
Porkchop enjoying the peace.
I'd like to have this kind of walkway in my house.
View from the resort restaurant.
The staff were very friendly too!
